Hot Chilli Sambal
Hot Chilli Sambal is one of the most popular condiments in Malaysia. Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen notes that in Malaysia, sambal is typically prepared at home with families following their own recipe influenced by regional differences or the availability of fresh ingredients. Auria’s Hot Chilli Sambal follows her family’s recipe and is handmade in small batches with a blend of fresh and dry chili peppers as the primary ingredient. It is flavored with fermented shrimp paste sourced from a small city in Malaysia. The result is a fiery, complex heat that will add a rich, umami flavor to any dish.
Use hot chilli sambal as a condiment to accompany your rice or noodles or as a marinade for seafood or meat. It works fabulously in soups, stews, or stir-fries. Our suggestion? Try upgrading your shrimp scampi with a spoonful of hot chilli sambal instead of crushed red pepper flakes. You’ll thank us later.
This hot chilli sambal is made with 100% natural ingredients and no added preservatives.
About the maker:
Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen is based out of Brooklyn, New York City. Auria was born in Malaysia and learned how to cook delicious meals in her mother’s kitchen with Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences. In college, she prepared traditional Malaysian meals for her friends and in 2011 she hosted an underground supper club series where she continued to cook her favorite dishes for her guests. All of this influenced her decision to launch Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen with the goal of getting incredible and authentic Malaysian food into the hands of the American public.
