Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 ounces bourbon or whiskey
  • 1 slice of orange
  • Cinnamon sticks, optional, for serving

Instructions

Char the Orange:

  • Turn the broiler on. Place the orange in the small skillet and transfer to the broiler. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until charred all over. Remove from the oven and cut in half.

Prepare the Hot Toddy:

  • Bring the water to a very low boil in a small saucepan. Turn off the heat and stir in the orange juice and honey and whisk until incorporated.
  • Stir in the bourbon.

To Serve:

  • Divide the hot toddies between two glasses and garnish with the charred orange and cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
